Director, Pre-Construction

e: max@flintstonesconstruction.com

Max is the Director of Pre-Construction. In his role, he manages the front-end aspect of the building process. Max collaborates with designers, architects, consultants, and engineers to facilitate a smooth start to each project. Additionally, he focuses on scope development with an emphasis on preliminary budgets and schedules.

Max’s passion and interest for construction development began when he was in University studying Economics and Business. He became driven to combine his interest in business with his passion for creativity and design. This mindset continued to grow when he entered the construction industry, and quickly after joining Flintstones, he established not only an understanding of the industry but also a passion for the craft. As a born and raised Victoria man, having the opportunity to create forever spaces for families and their future generations to enjoy is what drives Max. Max loves the team aspect of Flintstones and is highly motivated, hardworking, dedicated, and driven. He believes in the company’s core values (communication, accountability, honesty, recognition, and positivity) and follows them in his professional and personal life. He is committed to personal growth, our team, our company, and most importantly – our clients. He believes that taking care of our clients is just as important as making sure every home detail is carefully crafted.

When Max has a spare moment in the office, he can be found snuggling up with one of our four office dogs. You might even find one sleeping on his desk while he works. It has quickly become evident that all of our dogs love him just as much as he loves them. Outside of work, Max enjoys spending time with his wife Natasha. Max lives a healthy lifestyle and is an avid mountain biker, soccer player, runner, and an overall adventure seeker.

Rhett began his career in construction at age 17, working for a local construction company building residential homes and completing large scale renovations. After many years in the industry, Rhett himself became a Certified Home Builder through the Canadian Home Builders Association and moved to Dawson Creek, BC where he had the opportunity to successfully build numerous homes in a booming market and establish himself as one of the most trusted home builders in the area. Rhett’s focus has always been quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

After numerous years of conversations with Mike De Palma (Flintstones CEO), Rhett was finally convinced to move back to Victoria, the city he’s always loved and bring his many skillsets, and positive attitude to the Flintstones Team. Rhett is a partner in Flintstones and oversees personnel and project management of all large scale projects. His knack for scheduling ensures efficient and timely completion of projects. While out in the field he provides direct support and mentorship to our installers. Rhett’s building and project management abilities make him a gifted leader, and he is proud to have lead the Flintstones team in building our beautiful Showroom & Design Center, amongst other award-winning projects.

When Rhett isn’t taking care of business he is out on the water sailing or fishing with his family and friends.

“We shape our buildings; thereafter, they shape us.” Winston Churchill once said. Building has always been a passion of mine. It gives me great satisfaction to change the world around us and make homes a better place to live. Attention to detail is very important to me, I strive to ensure all facets of the building process run as smoothly as possible.
Born and raised in Victoria I feel a sense of connection to the city. My great grandfather once owned a bookshop downtown where his name is etched into a brick close to where his store once was. It gives me a sense of pride to be a part of our city, I am not sure I could live anywhere else. It is interesting to see the landscape of Victoria change and also be a part of that change.
After buying a house on Shelbourne Street at the age of 19 years old I soon realized the struggle to make my way. I was offered an apprenticeship after a couple of odd jobs and this is when I learned to become a carpenter. Completing my Red Seal was important so I attended school at Camosun College to complete my apprenticeship. It seems like yesterday now but I have over 17 years of carpentry experience.
In my spare time I enjoy fishing, camping, dirt biking, hiking and spending time with my family. Having two young sons takes up the bulk of my spare time but I wouldn’t change that for anything. I am never afraid of any challenge that life presents me. My future is yet to be written.
